The slow cooker with Cajun Chicken in it was successfully engaged at 7:25am. I will eat it at 5-6pm.

Today is my last day off before I begin full time work...

Today I will be playing Baldur's Gate, paying the phone bill, watching some DVD's (Probably Battlestar Galactica), and looking forward to my Cajun Chicken.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, I have been playing Baldur's Gate, and it rocks. Therefore most of my time is spent on that. Currently my AC is -3!!! I am a Fighter, proficient in Large Swords and Bows. However I use a Long Sword +1 (w00t!) and a Medium Shield +2. And when I can afford it I will get a Large Shield +2! (Which has an extra +1 vs missile weapons!)

This game rocks, if you haven't played it, go and buy it now. It costs next to nothing as well.

I continue to experiment with stews in my slow cooker. I will post more recipes soon.

In the "Wine of the Week" this week we have Hardys Merlot.

I used all except for one glass in a stew, and the one glass I had was acceptable. It had lots of flavour, but to date the Selaks 2003 Merlot has been the best, and the most expensive red wine I have had. And by "most expensive" I mean about $12.95 NZ...

Unfortunately the Lindauer Special Reserve Brut was in the fridge for too long and started to taste disgusting so I had to tip it down the sink...

In other news tomorrow I will be trying a new lamb stew! Standby for the recipe if it is a success...

Also I will be off to The Warehouse tomorrow to get 3 pairs of shoes for $9.95 each, a saving of $20 each!!!

My only complaint with DOOM 3 is that the room needs to be fairly dark to play, since the game itself is so dark. Meaning that I can only play it at night or if it is overcast or raining.

I have been playing DOOM 3 recently, it absolutely ROCKS! Damn scary, and very atmospheric. Plus you can't beat the DOOM shotgun.

An update on the Wine of the Week: Selaks 2003 Merlot: Excellent. highly Recommended. I drank 3 glasses or so and used the rest in my slow cooker to cook some beef, which came out excellent.

And a new Wine of the Week since I bought two bottles of wine this week...

Lindauer Special Reserve Brut: Quite nice, I would recommend storing it for special occasions, such as birthday parties, Christmas etc.

Today I will be starting a new "Wine of the Week" picture! Since we have missed 2 bottles of wine, here they are in all their drunken glory; Wolf Blass Eaglehawk 2003 Merlot, and a McGuigan "The Black Label" 2003 Merlot as well:

Both of these wines were easy to drink. I recommend the McGuigan Black Label Merlot over the Wolf Blass Eaglehawk however.

Wine of the Week:

Selaks 2003 Merlot. I will be trying it this evening so you can find out then if it is good or not.

Welcome to August 2004!!!

I am patiently awaiting the release of Doom 3 on Tuesday, it is going to rock. I hope it isn't so scary that I can't play it though, which nearly happened with Clive Barker's Undying.

The Enermax Power Supply is going well, and I can't decide between a Geforce 6800 Ultra or a Radeon X800 XT. In either case, it is always a good idea to wait a few months for new drivers to come out so that most of the problems are ironed out by the time you get the card.

I have one more episode of season 2 of Star Trek Voyager to watch before the end, I look forward to it and can't wait until season 3 is available on DVD!
